1. Research & Advocacy Coordinators
Location: Bengaluru, India
Job profile
CWC is looking for researchers with experience in the field of rights-based work, education and governance to join its research and advocacy team.
The role involves working with the field teams and management team for prioritising areas of research and advocacy, designing studies, coordination and implementation of the research, dissemination and advocacy. The main areas of work include child rights, child labour, children’s participation, education, democratic decentralisation and migrant rights. The ideal candidate will be have experience in facilitation skills and be able to facilitate research and advocacy by children on issues impacting their lives as identified by them.
The project management aspects of the role include organisational reporting, donor relations and networking. The researcher will also contribute to communication related work, like the website, publicity material, among others.
We are looking for a candidate passionate about child rights and governance and who is self-motivated and works well in teams. The role involves travel. Depending on the relevant experience and qualifications, the candidate will be considered for the positions of either research officer or research coordinator.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have a post-graduate degree in social sciences/development studies/education. Some acquaintance with children’s rights-based work is preferred, but a candidates willingness to learn and build competencies in the area is critical. Oral and written skills in English must be excellent and knowledge of Kannada is highly desirable.

2. Research & Advocacy Assistants
Location: Bengaluru and Kundapur (Udupi), India

The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning more about the field and facilitation skills to be able to support research and advocacy by children on issues impacting their lives as identified by them.

3. Urban field team member
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka
Job Description
For its urban field team, Ankur, CWC is looking for energetic, dynamic, optimistic, hardworking and child-friendly development practitioners who have positive attitude to internalize the processes and ideas directed to empower vulnerable children and communities through realization of children’s rights and strengthening local governance. It is expected from field activists to have required temper and qualities for community mobilization. Field activists must be willing to learn and build competencies.
Qualification
Minimum educational qualification is PUC
Mandatory: (1) Aforementioned attitudinal qualification (2) Writing and verbal skills in Kannada and English (3) Must know to drive two-wheeler.
Desirable: (1) Past experience of community mobilization (2) Working skills of Microsoft Office.
Salary and benefits are benchmarked in the non-profit sector and commensurate with relevant experience and internal equity.

4. Communications Coordinator and Communications Assistants
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka
Job Description
Your responsibilities as the coordinator will be in the areas of external as well as internal communications. Your responsibilities as the assistant communication person will be to support all communications endeavours alongside senior members of the organization.
The areas which would be covered within the domain of communications:
- Inputs and leadership will be expected of communications team in relation to building communications strategies for ongoing work and campaigns the organization might run.
- Communications relating to keeping our constituencies and other stakeholders informed of our work and its progress alongside actively building social media and other such communication spaces to reach out to a larger audience.
- Direct facilitation of constituency members to better express their concerns. Building tools and abilities alongside them.
- Creating awareness generation material for the issues and the organisation using multiple mediums – video, audio, print etc.
- Presenting the work of the organization in various forums and networks.
- Enhancing internal organizational communications.
Qualification
A post graduate degree in the area of Mass Communications/ Development Studies/ Social Work would be mandatory. Familiarity with social media, campaign management would be important. Some acquaintance with children’s rights-based work is preferred, but a candidate’s willingness to learn and build competencies in the area is critical. Applicants must have strong language skills in English and preferably, Kannada. It would be desirable for applicants for the co-ordinator post to have atleast five years of experience in the field.

5. Resource Mobilisation Officer
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka
Job Description
This position is expected to maintain relationship with existing donors of CWC and also explore new funding based on the strengths of CWC’s work. Resources can be raised from various sources. The main categories of resource mobilization are: institutional, community, corporate, trusts, and events. The role is expected to build successful relationships and network with current and prospective donors/ links to donors.
Typical work activities may vary, but typically include:
- exploring new ways of fund raising in addition to the traditional / institutional fund raising. for example- crowd fund raising through campaigns which might attract individual donors
- increasing funds by researching and targeting donors (international and national) whose criteria match the CWC’s values and work
- managing and updating databases to record donor contact and focus areas of work
- making risk analyses and balancing time-cost ratios to focus effort upon the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success.
- diversify funding of the organisation with an appropriate basket of small, medium and large donors as a strategy
- design existing/old programmes of the organisation in a manner to attract new funding/donors (this could be based on study of current donor scenario – national and international)
- being in regular communication with programme staff to understand programme and to explore new issues emerging from the field /elsewhere for new programme development
- prepare donor reports on existing programmes
- continuously be updated in latest developments in the development and funding scene.
- Assist the field programmes to carry out local resource mobilisation
Organisational Setting and Reporting Relationships:
The Resource Mobilisation Officer is accountable to the Director- Advocacy and Fund Raising. The Resource Mobilisation Officer also works in close collaboration with the programme staff and Financial Officer.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in fundraising and resource mobilisation preferably for a child rights based organisation
Qualifications: A post-graduate degree in Development Studies, Marketing or Media/ Communications, or any related field.
Languages: Fluency in English is required.
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and CWC salary scales
