Setting Up of Adolescent Clubs in Gram Panchayats of Karnataka_Framework – CWC

The Concerned For Working Children (CWC) has a rich history of engaging with the Government of Karnataka (GOK) to facilitate children’s participation at all levels. In keeping with this, through 2022 and 2023, CWC undertook consultations with children and field level practitioners in a few taluks of Udupi and Vijayanagara districts. This was the basis for the development of the Framework for the Setting up of Adolescent Clubs in Gram Panchayats of Karnataka.
The Framework includes:
1. Perspectives and guidance on why and how we need to engage with adolescents in a Rights Perspective and their key concerns
2. Programmes and processes suggested
3. Convergence mechanisms and role of different stakeholders.
CWC is honoured that this framework will find a rightful place in the design and implementation of the ‘Child Responsive Local Governance Programme’ of GOK.
